PREVIEW: WRAPPED

Those of you who follow me on facebook have probably already seen me in this outfit. It came with a tag line that "I'm a 90s kid at heart". Well I am. This very 90s styling trick of the wrapped shirt that accompanied my childhood years, was thought to have died together with the 90s. The grunge, Fresh Price of Bel-Air style may not be exactly what I'd place as a reference to my style now but the wrapped shirt carries with it something more than fashion. It carries with it some of that childhood happiness and "I don't care" feeling we often seem to lack when dressing as adults. When I first retreated to the wrapped shirt styling trick after more that a decade of not considering it as an option, I got that feeling of happiness you get only when you're a kid and you go out to play and a sense of freedom. 

Apart from the happy feelings it carries, it seems the perfect piece to juxtapose the ladylikeness of the midi dress covered with fluffy fur and sky-high (may I add a danger to my well-being) heels. 

While what you see above may not be everyones cup of tea, the bottom line is that when dressing up, there are not set rules to follow, no match this with that.

 But what I do like are  mini tips to get the imagination going. Read below!!

Mini tip: Choose a denim shirt or a checked shirt preferably to uplift a black look. Think leather trousers and dresses of all lengths.
